Abhibus launches its microapp on Google Pay

AbhiBus has launched its Micro-app on Google Pay’s SPOT section. This tie-up is a demand-driven initiative as the platform is already witnessing a spike in bookings by 100% in the past 2 to 3 weeks amidst the festive season. This move will further enable Abhibus customers across the country to book bus tickets on Google Pay’s AbhiBus micro-app instead of shuffling from one app to another.

The latest move will open up the inventory of more than 2,500 Bus Operators, partnered with AbhiBus to a larger audience and at the same time give Millions of GPay users the chance to choose from over 100,000 Routes pan India. Google Pay or Tez as it was popularly known, was already available as a payment option on AbhiBus’s platform and is one of the most successful payment options for UPI based payments.

Speaking about this initiative to empower its customers who prefer to use UPI platforms for payments, Rohit Sharma, Chief Operating Officer of Abhibus said, “Our primary objective has always been to enable customers with a plethora of options in online bus seat inventory at the most competitive price and offers.  Over 55% of our customers have been using UPI platforms for payments as people are unwilling to share card credentials online these days or adding money to wallets which is again time-consuming. Google Pay has been the most preferred mode of UPI payment gateway and as the lockdown eases further, we are already witnessing a spike in bookings during this festive season and with further surge expected during Dussehra and Diwali, this eased way of booking through the Micro App on Google Pay is a step towards better customer experience”.

AbhiBus has been the preferred digital platform for bus bookings and has driven similar partnerships to drive digitally secured payment by customers. Some of the noticeable partnerships include the tie-up with PhonePe & Airtel Payments Bank, and most recently the collaboration with Xiaomi’s MiPay platform. AbhiBus has also recently tied up with Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (Kerala RTC) to build its mobile app that can be used on both Android and iOS platforms.
