The Union Budget for 2018 saw some key announcements for the digital industry in India. The announcements included the allocation of Rs 3,073 crore to the Digital India scheme and the allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for the telecom sector will help in the development of rural Wi-Fi, providing easy internet access by setting up 5 lakh Wi-Fi hotspots.
