PVR becomes first Indian entertainment exhibitor to cross 800 screens milestone

PVR Cinemas announced its momentous achievement to become India’s largest and first cinema exhibition company to cross 800 screens milestone. From the launch of the first PVR property in 1997, PVR is the only brand to strengthen its presence across 69 cities. The total screen tally now stands at 800 screens across 170 properties with the launch of its latest multiplex in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. With this launch, PVR now stands at an unprecedented screen count of 800, across 170 properties in 69 cities.

The new 3-screen property housed in a posh township spreads across an area of 19600 sq. feet with a seating capacity of 581 audiences. Integrated with latest in-theatrical technological solutions and featuring contemporary art and décor, the multiplex is aimed at offering a unique movie-viewing experience to the patrons in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Limited said, “It is a moment of great pride to reach the 800 screens milestone. The journey from 500 screen count to 800 has been exemplary where we have focussed on cities beyond metros.
