Royal Jordanian Airlines Strengthens India-Jordan Connectivity

Royal Jordanian Airlines marks a significant milestone in India-Jordan relations as Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertakes a historic bilateral visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Coinciding with 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations, the visit highlights the deepening partnership across trade, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Amman, including high-level engagements with His Majesty King Abdullah II, reinforces the shared commitment of both countries to expand strategic, economic, and cultural cooperation. Discussions during the visit focused on key sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, education, regional stability, and enhanced bilateral engagement, further strengthening ties between India and Jordan.

As the national carrier of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Royal Jordanian Airlines plays a pivotal role in enabling this growing relationship through robust and reliable air connectivity. Central to this effort is Royal Jordanian’s direct Mumbai (BOM) – Amman (AMM) operation, a strategically important route that serves as a vital bridge between India and Jordan. The BOM–AMM service not only facilitates business, diplomatic, and leisure travel between the two countries, but also positions Amman as a key transit hub for Indian travellers connecting onward to the Middle East, Europe, and North America via Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said “Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Jordan represents a powerful moment in the evolving relationship between our two countries. As Jordan’s national carrier, Royal Jordanian is proud to bring India and Jordan closer, not only through air connectivity but by enabling stronger business ties, cultural exchange, and tourism. India is one of our most important emerging markets, and moments like these deepen awareness, curiosity, and travel intent.”

The visit has also renewed global attention on Jordan as a compelling tourism destination, driving increased interest among Indian travellers. From the ancient wonder of Petra and the healing waters of the Dead Sea to the dramatic landscapes of Wadi Rum and the country’s rich religious and historical sites, Jordan continues to attract travellers seeking culture, heritage, faith tourism, medical travel, and immersive experiences.

In line with this growing interest, Royal Jordanian actively supports ExploRJordan, the destination’s official tourism platform, which plays a key role in showcasing Jordan’s diverse offerings to international markets. ExploRJordan aligns closely with Jordan’s wider tourism strategy by promoting immersive travel experiences, curated itineraries, and lesser-known destinations, encouraging longer stays and deeper engagement with the country. Through its connectivity and partnerships, Royal Jordanian helps amplify ExploRJordan’s vision, making Jordan more visible, accessible, and appealing to Indian travellers.

With its award-winning service, direct connectivity to Amman, and extensive onward network, Royal Jordanian Airlines remains uniquely positioned to support the next phase of India-Jordan engagement, making Jordan more accessible than ever for Indian travellers while strengthening the bridge between the two nations.
